Friends of Merrimack

MISSION

The mission of the Friends of Merrimack College is to provide scholarship support to deserving Merrimack College students through membership dues, social and cultural activities, and fundraising programs. In the spirit of the College’s Augustinian and Catholic identity, we support opportunities for our students to develop a mature intellectual, cultural, social, emotional, and moral awareness.

HISTORY

The Friends of Merrimack College organization was established in 1995 when the Men of Merrimack, founded in 1952, and Ladies of Merrimack, founded in 1955, joined forces to work together on the common goal of raising funds to support scholarships. The organization is comprised of active community members, businesses and members of local government.

Since its inception, the Friends of Merrimack College has provided significant annual scholarship support to deserving Merrimack students. Over 80% of our current students receive some type of financial assistance and our participation will directly impact the lives of so many deserving students in making the dream of a college education come true. For the 2009/2010 academic year, the Friends of Merrimack Organization awarded more than $230K in scholarships.

INVITATION TO JOIN

The Friends of Merrimack College organization is open to anyone who is committed to assisting the College in raising scholarship support for deserving Merrimack College students. An annual donation begins at $50/individual; $100/joint.

As a Friend of Merrimack College, you will become a member of the campus community and receive invitations to special member events, cultural events in the Rogers Center for the Arts; athletic events; education programs; and the Friends of Merrimack College Annual Dinner and Christmas Party.

You will receive a subscription to Merrimack, the Merrimack College magazine for alumni, parents, and friends that will keep you informed on important college news and happenings throughout the year.
