Accreditation & Memberships

Granted a charter by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1947, Merrimack College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., which accredits schools and colleges in the six New England states. Accreditation by the Association indicates that the institution has been carefully evaluated and found to meet standards agreed upon by qualified educators.

Merrimack’s Civil and the Electrical Engineering curricula are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

The Chemistry program is accredited by the American Chemical Society.

The teacher preparation programs in elementary, middle, and secondary education as well as Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) have state approval under the Interstate Certification Compact of the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.

The Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
