Welcome to Merrimack College. As the College’s eighth president, I am committed to advancing Merrimack to a national and even international position of prominence.
As a selective, independent, four-year Catholic college in the Augustinian tradition, we strive to prepare students to adapt creatively to tomorrow’s realities - through our unique and comprehensive academic curriculum as well as a distinctive out-of-classroom experience that fosters community service, global citizenship and personal responsibility. Merrimack College students are committed to community efforts as well as establishing student-run organizations. We currently have more than 60 student organizations and there are many more in the process of being formed.
Merrimack College has received accolades such as being one of the best among colleges in the Northeast, as reported by the Princeton Review’s 2011 “Best Northeastern Colleges.”, and was ranked eighth by U.S. News & World Report’s best of northeast colleges. We offer a wide range of experiential opportunities that are designed to deepen student learning, broaden perspectives and provide valuable, real-world experience. Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing an environment where students can develop the skills, abilities and confidence necessary to achieve academic and personal success. Moreover, we are dedicated to assisting students in achieving their educational goals and offer an array of academic scholarships.
I welcome your interest in Merrimack College. Please browse Merrimack’s web pages to learn more about the College and its wonderful community of students, faculty and staff.
- President Christopher E. Hopey, Ph.D.
