Getting Started w iTunes U

iTunes University (iTunes U) Overview

With iTunes U you can bring all of your course materials (video, documents, podcasts, etc.) together on the iPad. Plan, publish, collect and grade right from your Apple mobile device. Students can view assignments, participate in discussions, and submit materials using the iTunes U app on their iPad.

In order to use iTunes U you MUST have an Apple ID.

Accessing iTunes U to create a course:
You can use the iTunes U course manager on a PC, Mac, or iPad, to create your course.

Creating a course on your iPad:

  • Open iTunes U on your iPad. If you do not see iTunes U, you can download it from the
  • Merrimack Self Service portal on your iPad.
  • Sign in with your apple ID.
  • Click + in the upper left hand corner to create a new course.

 Creating a course from your PC or Mac

Enrolling in a course:
Distribute your unique course code to your students. They will open iTunes U on their iPad, click the + and use your course code to “Enroll in a course.”
