Engaging Lives - Changing Lives

PURSUE THE TRUTH

The search for meaning is a hallmark of a Merrimack education and our Augustinian Catholic intellectual tradition. This is a place to seek truth, to discover your spiritual calling, to pursue a life of personal integrity and service. It is an exciting and life-changing journey, as our Merrimack Augustinian community challenges, supports and inspires one another to lead a more centered, more spiritual, more ethical life, grounded in service and engagement in the real world.

LEARN BY DOING

The Merrimack experience is about academic engagement and active learning. Ours is a direct, hands-on, collaborative education. Here, we learn by doing – whether in classrooms, libraries, and labs, or out in the field and the real world. Our students work with award-winning professors who are as devoted to teaching as they are passionate about scholarship at Merrimack.   Students accrue real-world experiences through internships, community service and our nationally-recognized Cooperative Education Program.

CONNECT

Participation is the natural order of things at Merrimack College. Here, everyone is involved in something –  whether in campus activities, clubs, student government, Greek life, intramurals, cultural opportunities, you name it.  We are faithful to the Augustinian tradition of being a community of friends in pursuit of wisdom.  We continually strengthen and nourish each other so that we can go forth and give of ourselves for the good of others.  Our community is welcoming, making it easy to meet others, to share interests, and make lifelong friends.

BE PART OF A GLOBAL SOCIETY

The world in which we work is becoming increasingly global, and Merrimack students are preparing to succeed in it. Each year, our students travel abroad, whether for study or research, learning about other cultures and gaining an important international perspective. Across every major, our students are engaging in a larger world – to better understand it, to actively participate in it, to ultimately change it.

GROW BY SERVING OTHERS

Service is an integral part of Merrimack’s mission and very often defines the Merrimack experience for our students. Our emphasis on spiritual and moral growth, on community, on caring for one another finds its roots in our Augustinian heritage. The ultimate goal of a Merrmiack education is to empower individuals to make a positive difference in the world.  Our Augustinian heritage, with its emphasis on community life and caring for one another, opens the hearts and minds of our students to the enriching experience of community service.  We have many opportunities to affect change. And, in the process, we are changed, too.
