Counseling and Health Services

For Parents

Our team is comprised of licensed, experienced, and caring professionals who provide a broad range of health and counseling services to all Merrimack students. Our Health Service is staffed by a physician (Medical Director), one full-time nurse practitioner (Assistant Director), one part-time nurse practitioner, and one full-time registered nurse. Our Counseling Service is staffed by a licensed psychologist (Director of Hamel Health) and two licensed clinical social workers. Confidentiality and quality of care are of the utmost importance, which enables our students to be assured that they are receiving the best care available.

Students should always carry their health insurance card and have a copy of their insurance information on file with our Center. There is no charge to students receiving direct care from the Hamel Health and Counseling Center.

We always welcome hearing from parents with worries or concerns. We are able to talk with you about your concerns, discuss resources, and together formulate a plan about how to best help your student. Please note, however, that we are not able to share any protected information about your student (over 18 years of age) without their expressly written permission, except in cases involving a life-threatening emergency.
