Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering
Position Overview: The Department of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have teaching and research expertise that contributes broadly to our offerings in transportation and development, and will preferably have additional expertise in a secondary area such as structural or environmental engineering. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, as well as research and scholarship. A B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related field are required. The anticipated start date for the position is Fall 2017.
Merrimack College is a private, selective, comprehensive institution. The College offers 90 undergraduate programs in liberal arts, science and engineering, business, and education. The past several years have been a period of extraordinary growth for the engineering programs at Merrimack, including a newly renovated student innovation space and laboratories. The Department’s B.S. Civil Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. The Department of Civil Engineering also offers a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Merrimack’s undergraduate engineering programs have been ranked by U.S. News and World Report as among the best in the country among institutions whose highest engineering degree offered is a bachelor’s or master’s.
