Associate/Full Professor, Women’s and Gender Studies
Position Overview: The Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Merrimack College invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor to begin Fall 2017. The successful candidate’s scholarship and teaching will focus on gender, sexuality/LGBTQ studies, as well as media and popular culture. We seek candidates who are well-versed in feminist theory, critical race theory, and media/film studies. Ability to teach global gender issues/feminisms and ethnic studies a plus.
Teaching load is three courses per semester, including the introductory Gender and Society course, as well as upper level courses that bring an intersectional approach to the study of sex and gender or of gender and popular culture/film/media. Applicants should have a commitment to experiential learning and social justice. The successful candidate will join a growing program that emphasizes interdisciplinarity and community.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Women’s and Gender Studies or related field, evidence of extensive, successful teaching and sustained record of scholarship.
