Coordinator of First-Year Writing

Position Overview: The Merrimack College Department of English invites applications for a non-tenure track term faculty position to serve as Coordinator of First-Year Writing. This is a full-time position beginning with the fall 2018 semester, with possibility of renewal up to six years. In addition to teaching three first-year writing courses per semester (normally capped at 18), the Coordinator will be responsible for teacher training, course staffing, course scheduling, and assessment. Experience with Blackboard or other course-management systems required. The successful candidate will work closely with the English Department, The Writing Center, the Dean of Liberal Arts, and the Dean of Student Success and Academic Support.

Ph.D. in English or Rhetoric and Composition preferred. Candidates with a MA degree in English or Rhetoric and Composition will be considered. College teaching experience required.
