Career Paths

“What kind of job will I get after graduation?” is a pivotal question that all students ponder as they get closer to graduation.  Merrimack College and the Girard School of Business and International Commerce offer excellent services, such as internships, senior-year job search information, and career events, to help students in their quest for the ideal job after graduation.

A degree in finance prepares graduates for competitive professional positions in corporate financial management, financial institutions management, investment management, financial planning, insurance and risk management, and real estate management. Students take the four "finance core" courses and six elective finance courses to specialize in a field.

Examples of some entry-level finance positions include: financial analyst, securities analyst, portfolio analyst, securities broker, financial planner, claims adjuster, credit analyst, and mortgage analyst.
