Class of 2009
Business/Finance
"In the fall of 2005, I made the decision to pursue a finance degree here at Merrimack. This soon proved to be an extremely rewarding choice. Each finance class offered at the school has developed a different aspect of my overall professional prowess. I have been able to earn internship offers in the financial sector and gain valuable experience for the future.
At Merrimack, the Finance Department demonstrates leadership that stretches above and beyond just academia. The professors here have not only devoted their time in the classroom, but are also always on campus after hours to help students with any situation in which they may need assistance. I have been able to develop character and maturity through classroom activities and open discussions. Through the wide variety of classes that are offered for finance students, I have developed a strong education regarding things like international business, financial analysis and management, and investing. To further my knowledge and understanding, I have become a member of the Investment Society at Merrimack as well. This gives me an opportunity outside the classroom to learn and execute investment transactions and, in turn, study how to track the stock market. It is just one of many additional opportunities that students are given at Merrimack.
I am now scheduled to graduate with “Latin Honors” from Merrimack in 2009 as a double major and a student athlete. The school has equipped me with all of the skills and attributes needed to become a contributing and successful member of the financial industry.
After college I plan furthering my education in hopes of one day becoming an investment banker. It has been Merrimack College that has guided me in the right direction professionally and personally to make these dreams a reality."
