Class of 2014
Finance and Accounting Double Concentration
Nicole is the first member of her family to graduate from college. Originally Nicole declared a Management concentrate, switching to Accounting, and then finally deciding to add Finance, Nicole clearly expresses an interest in all functions of the Business Administration program. To date, Nicole has been named to the Dean’s List every semester of her undergraduate career.
As a junior, Nicole was inducted into Sigma Iota Epsilon, a National Honorary and Professional Management Fraternity which encourages and recognizes scholastic excellence and promotes cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of Management. During the spring semester of her junior year, she was presented with the opportunity to participate with the senior level Advanced Investments class to go to Bloomberg in Boston, to which she was able to get certified in the Essentials of Bloomberg training program in Fixed Income Securities, Commodities, and Foreign Exchange. She feels truly blessed to have had that chance, and hopes that during her senior year she will have more opportunities like that.
As a freshman, Nicole was a resident at Merrimack College. During this time, Nicole traveled home to Danvers, MA to work at Honda North as the receptionist on Saturday afternoons. After her freshman year, she decided to start commuting, which she loves. Since Nicole was a junior in high school, she has been employed by Honda North and has been transferred between two different departments; the most recent transition was a promotion to the Financial Analyst of International Cars, Ltd., which is the parent company of Honda North. She is able to apply the knowledge learned in Managerial Finance, Financial Analysis, and to utilize the research skills learned in the Investments and Advanced Investments courses. Nicole is looking forward to the Corporate Finance and Financial Planning and Services courses being offered next fall.
After Nicole finishes the undergraduate program, she will start a Master of Science in accounting program, and then sit for the CPA Exam. Nicole’s ultimate goal is to work for the FBI as a Forensic Accountant, and she strongly believes that the analytical techniques of the Finance discipline will help her reach her professional objective.
