I am a rising junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, while also taking a compilation of both accounting and economics classes. I developed a passion for the capital markets because I love trading and investing through the use of basic technical and fundamental analysis. With that being said, I joined Merrimack’s Finance Group my freshman year to gain exposure to the necessary tools to better position myself for obtaining a summer internship. I was fortunate to intern at Putnam Investments after my first year, as it provided great exposure to the daily tasks within a financial organization. A catalyst for future success lies within the experiences that one acquires throughout their college career. Therefore, internships are one of the best ways to build a strong resume. I am also a member of the Girard School of Business Mentoring Program, which pair students with Merrimack alumni within their field of study to help build relationships and create future opportunities.
This past year I Co-founded and edited the Financial Insider for Merrimack College’s Beacon Newspaper. The column highlights some of the prevalent topics within the financial industry and their direct affects on students. I was also given the opportunity to obtain my Bloomberg certification in Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Foreign Exchange. Merrimack College has exceeded my expectations in helping me gradually achieve my short term goals. This summer I will be interning at Beacon Health Strategies in Boston as a finance associate. I look forward to continuing my journey at Merrimack College and expanding my financial horizons to best position myself for future success.
