Dr. Robert J. Cuomo is currently dean of the Girard School of Business and International Commerce at Merrimack College. He is a Ph.D. economist with substantial corporate, consulting, and teaching experience. His demonstrated skills and knowledge include modeling, capital budgeting, strategic management, forecasting, leadership, and team building. He is frequently contacted by newspapers and radio stations to comment on current and future economic conditions.
In his position as dean, Dr. Cuomo has been integrally involved in implementing curriculum change for the Girard School, and is committed to designing a business curriculum to address the needs of the dynamic business world. He has held several senior positions in industry including chief economist at Boston Edison, as well as principal consultant at Global Insight, a nationally recognized economic consulting firm. He has held faculty positions at Babson College and Cambridge College.
Dean Cuomo is currently president of Decision Research Associates, an economic consulting firm, and executive director and chief financial services of the Joey Fournier Services, a non-profit organization which provides violence prevention education in Massachusetts public schools.
