What our students say
Students from our First Year’s Class have great experiences to share.
MSMgt students land great jobs …
Sarah Holcomb interviewed for her new job during finals week this fall. Her MSMgt experience “managing people, working with other people, and [the] collaborative nature of projects,” gave her an advantage and she was the successful candidate hired for a position at the prestigious Boston Consulting Group. She moved from her full-time position as a Corporate Accountant at a dental insurance firm to being an Accounting Analyst at BCG.
“Wonderful professors, a well-thought out curriculum, faculty support, and full use of the college resources, all of this at a price that is way more affordable than similar programs.” — Sarah Holcomb (Boston Consulting Group)
Ashley Varano followed her interest in law and, during this year in the MSMgt program, moved from a position in a social media company to being the Social Media Marketing Manager for a litigation and court reporting firm. She will be “starting social media” for this firm. Her knowledge about Google and Samsung, from a marketing grad class, gave her an edge in the interview. Upper management has already noted her confidence and level of information in her presentations …
My CEO literally came up to me in Chicago after our first meeting and said, ‘You did a tremendous job, a natural presenter,’ and I told him Merrimack really prepared me.” — Ashley Varano (Esquire Solutions)
MSMgt students gain valuable knowledge and skills in engaging environment …
* “I have always had an interest in business and, when I found out Merrimack was creating a program, I jumped at the chance to apply. I love everything about this school and have found my niche here, so it only made sense to stay for the extra year.” – Carla Grieco
* “What I have learned so far has made me invaluable to the department. Communicating properly and effectively with customers has also become easier with what I have learned from the program.” – Matthew Raitt
* “What made me feel good about this MSMgt program is every teacher is caring.” – Yi Liu
* “… the MSMgt program incorporates more practical application… It’s a lot more engaging, which tends to be more fun, and I would argue, an effective way to learn… It [The MSMgt program] involves fewer exams and a lot more case studies. It’s actually kind of fun. It is more engaging than undergraduate work.” – John Massey
