International Business

The International Business concentration is a cross-disciplinary program designed to prepare graduates for success in the complex environment of global business. Students focus upon both the socio-cultural, technological, and political forces shaping the global economy, and upon the resultant complexities businesses face when “going global.” The program leads students to integrate proficiency in a modern language and understanding of a foreign culture with knowledge of financial, managerial, marketing, and other business processes, as conducted in the complex domain of international commerce.

A semester-long study abroad or foreign internship is strongly recommended (although not required) for all students concentrating in International Business. If completing a semester abroad is not possible, students are expected to complete at least one short-term summer program abroad (from three to eight weeks).
