My name is Alyssa Carrick, a class of 2014 undergraduate student majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Exposure to the business world began during my Junior year at Pelham High School where I took many business classes, was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and was also involved in various clubs and sports teams.
I intern and work as a Marketing Assistant at CADD Edge, Inc. in Londonderry, NH. CADD Edge, Inc. provides a complete line of engineering business solutions along with 3D printers. I have been able to earn valuable experience through this opportunity. As a Marketing Assistant I support the growing marketing team and perform duties across various platforms. These duties include consolidating information, aiding in website updates, nurturing of leads and attending various tradeshows in the New England area.
I am also a third year employee at the Merrimack College Sakowich Information Center. This opportunity has allowed me to become more confident speaking to new people and has enhanced my communication skills. My improved confidence and better ability to communicate with others has been displayed though business presentations and group projects.
In the classroom, I have a natural ability to take the role as a leader. I enjoy guiding my fellow classmates in group work sessions and discussions. Through an accelerated approach, I will graduate in Fall 2013 and have plans to continue my education at Merrimack College earning a Master of Science Degree in Management.
I believe that attending Merrimack College has been one of the best experiences of my life. Through this experience I have been able to meet many new people and learn valuable lessons inside and outside of the classroom. I am very thankful for my supportive family and their strong belief in the importance of education. My goal is to build a career with a company that will utilize my creative ideas and will provide me with new experiences, such as attending large events, meeting new people and traveling.
