Class of 2008
Michelle Pappas, a business administration graduate who focused on marketing, is applying her learned business skills in the workplace. Through a position at a public relations firm, Michelle is discovering how Merrimack’s lessons translate in a professional setting.
“Merrimack always put great importance on the idea of teamwork and always encouraged students to keep up with what's going on in the world - that enabled me to better prepare for the realities of professional life,” said Michelle. “In my current position, I work with a few different teams on any given day, and Merrimack's stress on team projects has definitely helped me prepare for that aspect at work.”
While at Merrimack, Michelle also helped other students with business writing as a fellow in Merrimack’s Writing Center. “Being a writing fellow allowed me to help students who are still in their early years of college become better business writers for the remainder of their time at Merrimack - not to mention well into their professional careers.”
“Merrimack was a good choice for me because I got to know my business professors and they knew me as well,” said Michelle. “I think that's a great benefit to anyone looking for a college where they can feel taken care of like that.”
