Non-profit Management Certificate Program

Merrimack College’s Non-profit Management Certificate is a program for professionals who want to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations within our communities. As one of the more rapidly growing sectors in New England, non-profit organizations provide safety net services to children and adults with disabilities, the homeless, mentally ill, seniors, veterans and others.

Given the rising demand for health and human services, there is an emerging need for strong and effective non-profit leaders with outstanding business and management skills. The Non-profit Management Certificate Program is designed to introduce entry-to-mid-level employees of non-profits to the fundamental theories and practices that guide successful leaders.

The Non-profit Management Certificate Program is a five-course undergraduate program, which may be taken alone or as a concentration in Merrimack College’s Bachelor of Arts Degree program. The certificate may be taken for credit or non-credit, based on student needs, and it may be completed in one year. The certificate is comprised of three required courses: Leadership in Human Services, Budgeting for Non-Profits, and Law and Ethics in Human Services and two electives. The skills and concepts that students learn in the classroom will be immediately transferable to the workplace.
