Project Risk Management

Course Overview:

Best Practices in Project Management – Risk Management

In this course, attendees will learn excellence in project risk management as defined by the Project Management Institute’s PMBOK. Coupled with best practices and derived from years of project management experience, this seminar clearly identifies what truly works and has lasting value in the real world of project risk management.

Best Practices in Project Management – Risk Management consists of a series of modules that over the course of 2 days will take you from identifying risk, responding to risk and finally monitoring and controlling risk. Many project managers find this very important facet of project management a challenge, because the environment often doesn’t allow adequate time to properly manage risk. Without focusing on risk management, schedules and budgets are underestimated. Using a classroom approach that encourages attendee participation and interaction, using a case study, there are a series of exercises that directly support the goals and learning objectives of this class. These exercises increase attendee understanding of the importance of managing risk and provide simple tools to help students successfully manage risk back in the workplace. The net result is that attendees share a learning experience which provides them with a common foundation, vocabulary, and way of approaching and thinking about project risk management from a best practices standpoint.
