Software Quality Assurance and Web Testing

Overview

This course is a practical guide to Software Quality Assurance for someone interested in learning more about this dynamic and popular field. It examines all the basic building blocks of knowledge and skills, and also explores current technology including open source tools and programs to assist an SQA professional.

The course will cover the following:

  • Quality assurance in the software development process
  • Strategies for software testing and quality control
  • Software process improvement
  • SQA implementation issues
  • SQA risk management considerations
  • Writing Test Plans
  • White Box/ Black Box Testing
  • Unit Testing/Regression Testing
  • Current Open Source testing tools
  • Performance Testing with Web sites
  • Agile Testing
  • Software Quality Metrics

Additionally, the course will guide the user in hands-on exercises using state of the art testing tools to further their practical knowledge. The class will meet one night per week for 10 weeks.
