A hybrid course is a blend of face-to-face instruction with online learning. In a hybrid course, a significant part (20% or more) of the course learning is online and as a result, the amount of classroom seattime is reduced.

Online courses are courses that are taught completely via the Internet using Merrimack’s course platform of Blackboard. They are not meant to be independent study classes. Our purpose in offering courses online is to provide access to students who may not otherwise be able to come to campus to take courses or who find on-campus courses inconvenient due to work and family schedules. Like on-campus courses, you will be expected to interact with the other students in your class. However, rather than talking and listening to your instructor and fellow students, you will be typing and reading.
