Michael Giannattasio ‘14
M.Ed. in Community Engagement, Community Organizations
Fellowship Site: North Andover Public Schools, North Andover, MA
Michael Giannattasio is from Boston, MA. He attended Suffolk University where he obtained his degree in Public Relations. Giannattasio believes that many of his past employment opportunities and volunteer work led him to the field of community engagement. At his undergraduate institution, he took advantage of many volunteer opportunities, and throughout all of his volunteer experiences Giannattasio realized how much a person can accomplish by helping change people’s lives, even in the smallest of ways. He finds volunteering to always be a rewarding experience and this led him to seek a career in community engagement. He is fortunate that Merrimack College has afforded him this great opportunity to make a difference now and in the future.
Giannattasio is one of the Graduate Fellows at the North Andover Public Schools. He works as a Community Development Coordinator, and his responsibilities include grant writing, community communication management, developing web-based communication, and working with members of North Andover’s Education Foundation.
Michael Giannattasio’s Testimonial
“I feel very fortunate and honored to a part of the Community Engagement Program. It is a great opportunity to to be working and studying with an awesome group of students in and out of the classroom. It is also great to be gaining hands-on experience while working at my fellowship site. I hope to apply what I am learning in the classroom and at my fellowship site to one day helping and improving the lives of others.”
