2009 Poetry Slam Huge Success
The Merrimack College English Club recently held a Poetry Slam in honor of April being National Poetry Month - a celebration of poetry in America sponsored by the Academy of American Poets.
Over 100 people attended the poetry slam which featured live performances by Merrimack students of original poetry and songs with prizes awarded to the top three contestants.
In addition, favorite poems written by others were performed in the recitation category which was open to Merrimack faculty, students, and staff.
