Dr. Wilson is an Old Testament scholar who specializes in the Pentateuch. His research focuses on the Priestly traditions within the Torah and the history of the priesthood in ancient Israel. His most recent book is Conversations with Scripture: The Law, which is intended as an introduction to the legal materials in the Old Testament and the ways they can inform the life of the church. He currently works as an editor with Abingdon Press on The New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible. He is a contributor to the forthcoming Feasting on the Word, a commentary on the texts of the Revised Common Lectionary.
Prior to coming to Merrimack College, Dr. Wilson taught at Virginia Theological Seminary and Wartburg College. He also spent two and a half years teaching at Lithuania Christian College in Eastern Europe. He is an active participant in academic societies and has presented papers at the Society of Biblical Literature and the European Association of Biblical Studies. He has served on the executive board of the Anglican Association of Biblical Scholars since 2003.
