Dr. DeCesare’s interests are social movements, sociology of education, research methods, and teaching and learning in sociology. He is a co-editor of New Directions in Sociology: Essays on Theory and Methodology in the 21st Century (McFarland, 2011) and the author of A Discipline Divided: Sociology in American High Schools (Lexington, 2007). His articles have appeared in a variety of scholarly journals. Dr. DeCesare is the president of the Merrimack College Chapter of the AAUP.
