Criminology (Sociology Majors)

In addition to the courses for the sociology major, all criminology minors are required to take the following TWO courses:

• SOC 3200    Criminology and Penology
• SOC 3120    Sociology of Law (Theory)

Besides the required course above, majors in sociology are required to take THREE of the elective courses listed below. Any courses that are taken for the sociology major cannot then be counted for the minor.

• SOC 3050    Female Deviance, Crime & Social Control
• SOC 3060    White Collar Crime
• SOC 3350    Alternative Approaches to Criminal Justice
• SOC 3430    Criminal Justice and Mental Health
• SOC 3500    Domestic Violence
• SOC 4861 or 4866    Criminology Internship

Only ONE of the THREE elective courses may include the following:

• SOC 2002    Social Problems
• SOC 3330    Racial & Ethnic Minorities
• SOC 3370    Urban Sociology
