Merrimack's integrated-arts approaches prepare students to enter an arts-based career, or pursue advanced degrees in any field.
The Visual and Performing Arts major in Digital Design provides a professional foundation for work in graphic design, web design, and publishing design, as well as a foundation for creative work in fine arts. Some career options include: graphic design, advertising, web design, printing, television, animation, and game design.
The Visual and Performing Arts major in Art and Art history provides students with the broad basis in the arts expected of those who work in multi-art positions, such as critics, art coordinators, program consultants or generalists teaching art history at small colleges and schools for the arts. A post-graduate degree is also helpful and our graduates are well-prepared for graduate study.
Typical career paths for students minoring in theatre would be: teaching drama in an educational setting; arts administration/management; and performance: acting or directing, scenic or lighting design, and drama/expressive therapies.
