Minor Requirements
Five minor programs are available in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, respectively emphasizing art history, studio art, video, music and theatre. The programs in art history and studio art each have core requirements: Foundations of Visual Art (FA 111A), and two basic art courses. A minor in fine arts is no less than six courses, and a studio art minor is no less than seven courses.

The student must demonstrate competence, to the senior music faculty member, in performance on an instrument at a level sufficient to allow practical use of the instrument. This should include: (a) prepared piece, (b) sight-reading, and (c) demonstration of technique.
The department will attempt to assist students in arranging for private instruction where needed regarding performance requirements. Such instruction would be at the expense of the student.
