Minor Requirements

Minor In Modern Languages

Students who minor in a modern language (French, Italian, or Spanish) and are able to begin above the elementary level (i.e., above 1010-1020) will take 20 semester credit hours (5x4); for students beginning with the first semester of a language, the minor consists of 24 semester credit hours (6x4), including 16 semester credit hours (4x4) beyond 1010-1020. Courses in the minor language will normally include FRE, ITA or SPA 2010 and 2020, plus upper level courses.

Minor In Italian Studies

We propose a minor requiring 20 semester credit hours (5x4). The minor will consist of one year of the Italian language (ITA 1010 and ITA 1020), plus a combination of 3 culture courses and ITA 2010 and 2020 as available.
