Chemistry
Welcome to the Chemistry Department at Merrimack College!
Students completing this course of study have their degrees certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS). The coursework provides a thorough understanding of chemical principles, both theoretical and practical, with a strong emphasis on laboratory work. Excellent chemical instrumentation facilities are available for undergraduate use.
Graduating students are prepared to enter directly into the many areas of the chemical industry, or to pursue advanced studies in chemistry, chemical engineering, medicine or dentistry. A chemistry teaching option is also available.
Over the last eight years almost ALL Merrimack’s chemistry graduates have found employment in the chemical sciences whether that be graduate school, chemical industries, or other scientific positions. Over that time, more than 50% of the graduates have been women.
