History

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest technical professional society. It was founded in 1884 by an electrical engineering discipline group and today, the institute is comprised of more than 370,000 members who conduct and participate in activities in approximately 150 countries. The members of IEEE are students and professionals who are making revolutionary engineering advances that are generating profound changes in our world today.

Activities and Services

The MC IEEE student chapter:

  1. Invites speakers from industry to update students on new technologies to better prepare them for future careers in electrical engineering.
  2. Organize field trips to a variety of locations: manufacturers, job fairs, entertainment, and regional IEEE activities.
  3. Offers educational activities, such as building a PC from scratch, PCB Board soldering, and tutoring sessions by upperclassmen.
  4. Participates in events such as Engineering Week and senior project presentations.
  5. Fundraising
