Merrimack Electrical Engineering Professor and Chair, Jack Adams, Ph.D.
Granted Fellowship for Solar Hot Water System
Dr. Jack Adams, associate professor and chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named the recipient of the Paul E. Murray Fellowship for 2009-2010. His students will assist him with the installation of a solar hot water system on a college townhouse, which involves the development of a low-cost system for measuring and displaying its efficiency. They will design, build, and implement the project.
The $10,000 Paul E. Murray Fellowship was established in 2000 to promote science and engineering research at Merrimack College. It is awarded annually to a member of the science and engineering faculty in support of significant projects of research and study that increase the Fellow’s knowledge in his/her field and demonstrably add to teaching effectiveness.
Dr. Adams, who has a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts, has been teaching at Merrimack since 1999.
