Recycling
The Campus Sustainability Initiative is proud to announce that starting in the spring semester 2009, Merrimack College has been embracing a new, comprehensive recycling program for all buildings on campus. There are several components to the recycling efforts involving students, staff and faculty and it is happening in both residence halls and academic buildings. This web page provides an overview and guidance on how the recycling program operates and the various facets involved. Details on the program can be found by downloading this recycling overview.
Merrimack College recycles the following materials:
Aluminum, Plastics, Glass and Metal Food Containers
These should be placed in the White Recycling Containers found in Residence Hall Trash Rooms, Common Areas and in Academic Buildings. The following materiasl can be co-mingled:
- Aluminum cans
Plastics (# 1-7)
Glass (clear, green, brown)
Metal food containers
Mixed Paper
This includes office paper, envelopes, magazines,
flyers, inserts, and can include stapled items
Paper should only be put in the BLUE paper recycling bins
Cardboard - All carboard boxes need to be broken down ready for baling
Lawn clippings - They are composted off of Haverhill Street
