Both computer science and information technology disciplines can lead to many interesting applications: gaming, medical imaging, e-commerce, cell phone drivers, web page processing and computer generated movies. The applications of computer power are limitless!

People working to solve every major challenge facing our world today turn to computing in their search for solutions. With a background in computing, you can help in fights to reduce carbon emissions through the design of smart cars, or help in conquering disease through the analysis of the genetic information stored in our DNA.

Career paths in computing are diverse! Here are a few options:

  • Internet Applications – Web Page Designers/Developers, Database Administrators for e-commerce, search engines, social networking, Network Specialists that handle Internet and Web traffic
  • Scientific Research – Database Developers/Administrators for Human Genome projects, Network Administrators for medical imaging and high-tech hospital equipment
