The Electrical Engineering Department at Merrimack College is presently creating a RFID center of excellence. RFID is the technology that expands on bar-coding technology and, for example, is now required of all vendors selling to Wal-Mart.
The department has received donations from many of the major RFID companies, including TagSys, Symbol, Fluke and others. Leading experts in the RFID sector have come to Merrimack College to give seminars or to teach classes.
