Transfer Student Info
Prospective transfer students may apply for consideration for Spring or for Fall.
Students wishing to transfer from another accredited college or university may be considered for admission to Merrimack College under the following conditions:
- Application and $50.00 application fee - You can complete the Transfer Online Application, the Transfer Common Application and Transfer Common Application Supplement OR you can complete our Merrimack College hard copy Transfer Application
- Official Transcript(s) from each College/University attended
- Course Catalog/Course Descriptions from each College/University attended (Course descriptions are needed in order to evaluate and determine transfer credit)
- One current Letter of Recommendation
- College Essay
- AP/IB/CLEP - "Official" score reports required in order to determine transfer credit. Merrimack College school code number is 3525.
- US Permanent Residents are required to submit a photocopy (both sides) of Alien Registration card
- High School transcript is required if less than one year (less than 30 semester hours of credit) of college coursework has been completed.
Transfer students should submit applications for admission by the following deadlines:
- Fall Term: July 1
- Spring Term: December 1
Transfer applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates are notified as application files are completed. Notification for spring term admission begins in November, and for fall term admission in March. Please refer to Merrimack College Catalog for credit and academic standing details.
In order for an international application to be considered complete, you must follow the requirements as stated above for transfers (Note: All documents must be translated into English where applicable). The following items are also required:
- Completed certificate of Finances or Notorized Bank Statement which certifies amount of funds on deposit/available for education in the U.S. for one year of study.
- Test of English proficiency for applicant for whom English is not his/her native language. TOEFL or IELTS official score report required.

Community College Transfer Articulation Agreements
