2012-2013 Direct Loan Update

Federal Direct Loan Program

Merrimack College is participating in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan Program. This means that students and parents will borrow Federal Direct Student Loans and Parent PLUS Loans through the US Department of Education.

The processes under the Federal Direct Loan program are streamlined with one central point of contact throughout the life of the loan.

If you have not already done so, file the 2012-2013 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov and include the Merrimack College Federal School Code 002120 to be eligible for the Federal Direct Student Loans.

 All borrowers must:

1. Complete Entrance Counseling

2. Electronically sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN)

We encourage all students to complete these two action items at www.studentloans.gov as soon as possible before school begins.

Students must click on the large, green “SIGN IN” icon in the “Manage My Direct Loan” box. You will need to enter your Social Security Number, first two characters of your last name, Date of Birth and your FAFSA PIN.

Additional information will be available on our web page as it becomes available. We will also send information with every 2012-2013 Financial Aid Award Notification.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns please contact the Merrimack College Office of Financial Aid at 978-837-5186.
