Undergraduate Admission

International Next Steps

Congratulations! You did it! Merrimack is home to students from all around the world - 22 countries to be exact!

We are excited that you may be joining the community. Here are some next steps to help you along your college decision process.

Step 1: Deposit

Now that you are accepted, submit a deposit by following the instructions in your admissions letter to secure your spot as a Merrimack student.

Your deposit accepts the offer of admission to Merrimack College and is credited towards your 2014-2015 bill. The deadline for submitting your deposit is noted in your acceptance letter and is non-refundable after that date. Make it official!

Step 2. Complete your I-20 requirements

In addition to your deposit, we must have a copy of the following items before an I-20 can be issued:

  • a copy of your passport
  • official, notarized financial documentation  Notarized financial documentation can come from family sources, international scholarship agencies or government sponsors, and should certify that funds are on deposit/available to meet costs for one academic year of study. For the 2014-2015 academic year these costs are $48,964.00.
Tuition $34,615.00
Room & Board $13,255.00
Books & Health Insurance $1,729.00
Comprehensive Fee $1,600.00
Total $51,199.00

If you’ve already provided these documents to us - thank you! Your I-20 will be generated upon receipt of your deposit.

To transfer from a U.S. School to Merrimack College

Upon notification your current school will update the student’s record in Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) as a “transfer out”  and a release date.  After the release date, Merrimack College will complete the transfer of the student’s record in SEVIS and issue a new I-20.

Step 3. We’ll send you your Certificate of Eligibility (I-20)

You will need this to obtain a student visa.

Step 4. Plan out your travel

International Student Arrival Day for students starting classes in Fall 2014 is Monday, August 25, 2014.

Step 5. Await next steps!

After depositing, visit the International Welcome page for housing forms, registration, orientation, and more.
