Undergraduate Admissions

Sarah Whittall

imageEducation:
B.A. in Communication, Public Relations, University of Hartford; currently enrolled in Merrimack’s Master’s in Higher Education program

Territory:
I cover schools in Rhode Island and the Worcester area of Massachusetts.

Hometown:

Worcester, MA

Favorite place on campus:
The Adirondack chairs - they are all around campus!

Fond memory or experience from your undergraduate years:
All of my different internships (even the one I didn’t like that much!) It helped me gain lots of professional experience, and helped me figure our that I loved working in Admissions!

Tips for high school seniors:
Embrace embarrassing moments, they’re going to happen and they make the best stories later on!

Last great book you read:
American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. It is a fictional book loosely based on the life of Laura Bush, but I love all of the books Curtis Sittenfeld has written.

Most played song on your ipod:
Right now it’s Ingrid Michaelson’s “You and I”, but it changes on a weekly basis.

Where would you like to travel:
I would love to explore the entire country of Spain. I spent a few days in Madrid on a high school trip to Europe, it was such a beautiful country.

One thing about you that may surprise your colleagues:
I love roller coasters! I am the only one in my family who likes roller coasters, and since I was tall enough to ride them, I always rode them by myself, because no one else in my family wanted to ride with me!

One great discovery you’ve made on Merrimack’s campus:
The flatbread sandwiches at Zext, mmmmm!

What makes Merrimack the place to be:
You get a small college and learning experience with all the amenities of a large college! D1 Hockey (and free tickets to the home games!), lots of different clubs and activities, all with the luxury of small class sizes and close relationships with faculty and staff.
