Merrimack's Priorities

Thank you for your interest in the future of Merrimack College. Our fundraising efforts, combined with the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends, serve to bolster the College’s resources in the following ways:

Merrimack Fund

Unrestricted donations are flexible and enable the College to use funds where they are needed most—supporting academic programs, providing financial aid, furthering faculty development, and meeting critical operational expenses.

General Scholarship Fund

Roughly 80 percent of Merrimack’s students receive institutional financial aid totaling $17 million. Scholarship support and access to higher education for the College’s students remains one of our highest priorities.

Academic Programs

Quality of academic programs is the single most important determinant in the selection of college by new students. Merrimack College is committed to providing its matriculates with the best possible undergraduate education, grounded in the liberal arts and the Augustinian pedagogical traditions.

McQuade Library

At the heart of the campus—physically and academically—is the McQuade Library. Built in 1967, the Library is on the verge of being transformed into a state-of-the-art information commons where students, faculty, alumni, and friends will engage with each other and conduct research.

College Endowment

Endowed chairs, professorships, scholarships, programs, and facility funds provide the College with stable sources of income which grow over time in perpetuity. Income from the endowment frees up operational resources for current expenses.

Intercollegiate Athletics

Merrimack sponsors 15 NCAA Division II varsity sports and a Division I men’s ice hockey program. In addition, the College offers numerous intramural athletic activities and teams. The College supports its student athletes by offering them outstanding facilities, like its new exercise center and field turf stadium.

Rogers Center for the Arts

The Rogers Center provides audiences from across the Merrimack Valley with artistic excellence through creative programming. By establishing an endowment fund to support the Rogers Center, the College is ensuring the continuation of an “Arts Alive” tradition for its students, alumni, and neighbors.
