Constitution Day 2009

Congress has declared September 17th United States Constitution Day in celebration of the original ratification (September 17, 1787) of the Constitution and to foster a deeper understanding and awareness for the document.

This year on Thursday, September 17th there will a table on Main Street in the Sakowich Center celebrating Constitution Day.   The table will include an enlarged display of the Constitution and provide students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to comment on and propose changes to the Constitution.  Students, faculty, and staff will be able to vote for which amendment of the Constitution they feel is the most important. There will also be copies of the Constitution available for students to read.

All members of the community (students, faculty, staff & administration) are invited to vote on which amendment of the Constitution they feel is the most important and to share their views on and proposed changes to the Constitution.   The Constitution Day table will be in the Sakowich Center from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, September 17th.

This celebration of the Constitution is sponsored by the Student Government Association, the Political Science Dept, the Pre-Law Society, and the Office of Student Life.
