Recruiting Program

The Merrimack College Job Search and Recruiting Programs are available to all students who will be graduating with the class of 2008. Our programs include resume referral and on-campus recruiting through our web-based recruiting system ADVANTAGE, as well as services for off-campus job search assistance. Our staff is available to assist students, in every way necessary, to learn how to secure employment upon graduation and in the future.

Resume Referral

Our web-based recruiting system called Advantage contains positions from over 200 companies, ranging from small start-up firms to government agencies, non-profit organizations and Fortune 500 corporations. The organizations that work with us usually have entry level positions for graduating seniors. Students who fill out a Registration Form and attend both mandatory workshops (Resume & Interviewing) and have had their resume critiqued by a member of Career Services, can submit their resumes for positions posted on Advantage. The company contacts will review the submitted resumes for interview selection at their location, or for On-campus Recruiting at Merrimack.

In addition to the companies represented in Advantage, there are numerous other employers who will contact us during the year with various openings. These new job postings will either be posted to Advantage or posted in the job posting books in the Career Resource Room and are available for students to apply who are registered with Career Services.

On-Campus Recruiting Program

Seniors who register with the Career Services office and attend the mandatory Recruiting Orientation sessions are eligible to participate in the On-Campus Recruiting program.

When a company will be recruiting on campus, they will review the resumes of students that have been sent using the web based recruiting tool, ADVANTAGE and choose who they wish to interview. The participating students need to log on to ADVANTAGE daily and check their application status to see if they have been selected to interview. The selected students can then sign up on ADVANTAGE for an interview time.

Many companies recruiting on campus will arrange with us to have an information session on campus, usually on the day prior to the scheduled interviews. These sessions are an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the job for which they are applying, the company, its culture and the people who work there. It also affords representatives of the company a chance to meet interviewees in a more informal setting.

Companies are added to the Recruiting Calendar continually throughout the year. Seniors are encouraged to log on to ADVANTAGE daily.
