As an educational theorist and practitioner, Dr. Roselli has served in many roles: teacher; department head; director of curriculum and instruction; consultant; assistant superintendent for curriculum and personnel; and superintendent of schools. He has completed book reviews for several publishers, including Sage Publications, Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, and Pearson/Allyn & Bacon Publishing. His research interests include: Foundations of Education (with a focus on social context of schooling), curriculum theory and design, sociology of education (with a focus on education reform), linguistics/language acquisition, literacy development and reading, and humanistic approaches to schooling.
Dr. Roselli has published a book, Dos and Don’ts of Education Reform: Toward a Radical Remedy for Educational Failure (2005) with Peter Lang Publishing USA. He wrote a chapter for Media Literacy: A Reader, titled “Semantics of Connection and Alienation in Hyperreality” (2007), also published by Peter Lang; and a chapter in Contemporary Youth Culture, titled “On Youth and Psychological Investment”, published in 2006 by Greenwood Press. His most current project focuses on Critical Sociolinguistics: Language and Literacy Revisited, which will be published by Peter Lang Publishing USA.
Dr. Roselli has presented papers and given keynote addresses at many conferences and organizations including AERA, NEERO, MSSAA and MASCD. His topics of presentation have included: Assessment of Learning; Literacy; Multiple Intelligences; Instructional Strategies; International Experiences in School Improvement; and Education Reform.
