Getting Married at the Church

YOUR WEDDING DAY AT MERRIMACK

On behalf of the Merrimack College community, we in Campus Ministry would like to congratulate you on your engagement and wish you happiness in your life together.

The Collegiate Church of Christ the Teacher
has been the setting for many brides and grooms over the years.  If you would like to celebrate your wedding at the Collegiate Church, please look over the requirements below.

Who can get married on campus?

To be married at the Collegiate Church of Christ the Teacher is a privilege granted by the Archdiocese of Boston.  As such, the Bride or Groom must meet one of the following requirements: either must be an alumnus OR a current student at Merrimack College.  Since the ceremony is in the Roman Catholic tradition, at least either the bride or groom must be a practicing Catholic.

Who will preside at our wedding?

Merrimack College provides the space for your wedding, but does not guarantee a presider.  It is your responsibility to secure a presider for your wedding liturgy.  Availability of Augustinian Friars from the College is limited.  If you have a family member or friend, or even a favorite priest or deacon from your parish, we encourage and welcome you to ask that priest or deacon. We also encourage you to begin to form a relationship with your local parish, if you have not done so.

Are there fees involved?

Yes, there is a fee.  This fee covers the use of the Church, a sacristan, paperwork and a music workshop. The fee can be discussed with Campus Ministry at the time you book your wedding.

How do I reserve the Church?

You reserve the Church by calling the Campus Ministry Center at 978-837-5450.  At that time, you may pencil in a date and the wedding coordinator will contact you to set up an appointment.

We are currently accepting reservations through December of 2012.

For additional policy information and guidelines, download the PDF document in the links section on the right.

All weddings at the Collegiate Church of Christ the Teacher must be booked at least six months in advance of the wedding date.
