62nd Commencement Celebration

Congratulations graduates, parents and families.  Commencement will arrive quickly, and this page is intended to provide you with information you will need as you make preparations to attend Merrimack College’s 62nd Commencement.  Please bookmark this page so that you may refer to it in the coming weeks.

Diplomas

Diplomas have been ordered.  If you do not plan to attend graduation, your diploma will be available in the Office of the Registrar after graduation.

Final Grade Report

You may view your grades on MyMack as soon as they are available.

Caps and Gowns

Caps & gowns will be distributed on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the First Floor Lounge of the Sakowich Campus Center.  Caps & gowns will then be moved to the office of the Vice President for Mission and Student Affairs, the second floor of the campus center. Call 978-837-5217 to arrange after hours pick-up.

Caps, gowns, and hoods must be returned to the Sakowich Campus Center immediately following Commencement. Please take all photos before the ceremony and remember to keep the tassel and Alumni pin as a memento.

Photographs

A professional photographer will take pictures of each student receiving his/her diploma.  Essex Commencement Photos will contact you with details. Questions, please contact the Office of Conference and Events 978-837-5389.

Ticket Information

Undergraduate admission tickets will be distributed on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the First Floor Lounge of the Sakowich Campus Center.  All students must present a valid photo ID and sign for their tickets.  You may not pick up tickets for other students, and tickets will not be mailed.

Graduate admission tickets are available and can be picked up in the School of Education Office located on the third floor of Austin Hall.

Students will be allotted a total of six (6) tickets. Students seeking additional tickets should speak to their classmates.

Many students will not use all of their tickets and we encourage them to distribute extra tickets among their fellow graduates.

If you are unable to pick up your tickets on May 4, please stop by the office of the Vice President for Mission and Student Affairs, second floor, Sakowich Campus Center.

Students who completed their requirements during the fall semester and are no longer on campus are asked to contact the office of the Vice President for Mission and Student Affairs 978-837-5217.

Attendance Policy/Safety Regulations

Individuals seeking admittance to the Volpe Athletic Center will be required to present a Commencement Admission Ticket.  No exceptions will be made to this policy. Please distribute tickets to all attendees in your group before arriving on campus.

We ask for your cooperation in making this occasion a memorable one, and request that you do not bring alcohol (including champagne), beach balls, air horns, balloons, etc. to the ceremony. Inappropriate items will be confiscated
at the door. 

Fire codes prohibit guests from standing in the aisles in the Volpe Athletic Center.  Family photographers are asked to stay behind stanchions.  Please remember to be considerate of those seated behind you while you are taking your photos.

Parking

Parking is limited.  Police Services will be on campus throughout the weekend to direct you and your guests to appropriate parking areas.

Handicap Parking/Other Accommodations

Please contact Merrimack College Police Services for information on how to obtain a handicap area parking pass for the Commencement ceremony at 978-837-5152. Those guests who are parking in the handicap area should plan to arrive before 9:30 a.m. to utilize the entrance closest to the parking lot. After 10:00 a.m., all guests must use the main entrance to the Volpe Center.

If you require a sign language interpreter, please contact the Office of Conference and Events 978-837-5389 by February 24, 2012.

Legacy Students

Legacy students will receive a medallion to be worn at Commencement. The medallion will be attached to their admission ticket envelope. Students and families are invited to a legacy reception on Saturday, May 19 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Rogers Center for the Arts. Senior Send-off Week

The popular Senior Send-off Week is back! All seniors are invited to both on-campus and off-campus events during the week of May 14, 2012. Plan to celebrate your last days and nights at Merrimack with  your friends and classmates.
