On-campus Housing

Deegan Hall

Home to over 300 first-year students. Deegan Hall is named after Reverend John E. Deegan, O.S.A., who was president of Merrimack College from 1981-1994. Deegan, which first opened in 1998, is broken up into two separate buildings, West and East.

Deegan Hall consists double and triple rooms. Each room comes equipped with Internet, phone, and cable outlets. The room size is 17' x 10'10" and a window size of 6' x 2'8". 

Each floor also has its own common area, study lounge, and community bathrooms. Deegan West has added features with seminar rooms where classes are held and a big screen TV. Also in Deegan West is the Fireplace Lounge which houses a lounge area with a stove, refrigerator, and large screen TV.

Ash Centre

Ash Centre is home to over 300 first and second year students and the Austin Scholars Community.

Ash consists of both double rooms, average size of 12'x 14' with two windows that are 5'7" x 3'7", and suites of four, average size of 11'x 9' and 14' x 9'.

Suites feature two bedrooms, a small common area and a bathroom. Each double room is equipped with telephone, cable TV and internet capability. Suites feature the same capabilities, which are located in the common rooms.

Full laundry facilities are located in the basement. Study lounges are on the second floor and there is ping pong and Foosball in the foyer for all to enjoy!

Monican Centre

Monican Centre is a three-story, traditional residence hall that houses approximately 300 sophomore and junior students. One wing is comprised of double rooms while the other two wings are suites that house four students.

Each room comes equipped with the appropriate number of furniture for each student: desk, chair, dresser, wardrobe, and bed.  Monican consists of both double rooms, average size of 12'x 14' with two windows that are 5'7" x 3'7", and suites of four, average size of 11'x 9' and 14' x 9'.

Monican Centre is staffed by an Area Coordinator and 9 RAs.

O'Brien Hall

This residence hall, which opened in September 2003, typically houses juniors and seniors.

Overseen by an Area Coordinator and 6 RAs, the building features several different size suites housing four, six or eight residents. Each room comes equipped with the appropriate number of furniture for each student: desk, chair, dresser, wardrobe, and bed. All of the suites contain a common room with either two couches or love seats and a coffee table. Suites are divided into bedrooms with each bedroom featuring an internet port, telephone jack and its own telephone number. Bedrooms measure approximately 11' x 15'.

Townhouses

Housing approximately 150 residents, there are fourteen townhouses which normally house sophomores and juniors. Each townhouse is equipped with six bedrooms (two people per bedroom), two full baths and one half-bath. The bedrooms measure approximately 12' x 16'. Furniture supplied by the College includes beds, desks, desk chairs, chest, wardrobes and couches. Laundry facilities are available to townhouse residents and are located in every-other unit.

The townhouses are overseen by an Area Coordinator and 7 Resident Advisors. Together, these members of the Residence Life staff develop and present social and educational programs to the apartment community, while supporting the day-to-day and developmental needs of its residents.

Apartments

The St. Thomas and St. Ann Apartments are the primary residential space for seniors. Each apartment is equipped with two bedrooms, one and one-half baths, a kitchen and a living room. A bedroom measures approximately 13'11" x 10'7" in St. Thomas and St. Anne bedrooms are approximately 13'9" x 11'3". Furniture provided by the College includes beds, desks, desk chairs, dressers, couches, kitchen tables and kitchen chairs.

Housing 288 students, the apartments are overseen by an Area Coordinator and 8 Resident Advisors. Together, these members of the Residence Life staff develop and present social and educational programs to the apartment community, while supporting the day-to-day and developmental needs of its residents.

Also available to apartment residents are laundry facilities placed throughout the complex, as well as a large community room (located in St. Thomas) which is used for programming and as a study space.
