Posters & Decorations

To help personalize your room, you will likely want to hang posters or pictures in your room. Please be advised that certain items (nails, duct tape, etc.) may damage these walls and these damages will be billed at the end of the year. Pack a few rolls of blue "painters" tape to prevent damage to the walls. Also, please do not cover the ceiling with decorations.

Computers

Every room has an Ethernet jack so you can plug right in to connect to the Merrimack College network. Starting in fall 2011, all residence halls are wireless!

Suites, townhouses & apartments

If you will be living in a suite-style room (O'Brien Hall; designated rooms in Ash, Monican Centres), townhouse, or on campus apartment,  pack cleaning supplies and paper products for your bathrooms. The residents of these spaces are responsible for the up keep of these bathrooms throughout the year; our cleaning staff will come in during the semester break to clean these spaces.

Please leave these things at home:
  • Hot plate, toaster, toaster oven, and other cooking elements
  • Air conditioners
  • Pets (fish in up to 10 gallon tanks are OK)
  • Candles/incense (even unlit and decorative)
  • Decorative alcohol bottles
