Building Community, Reaching for Justice Speaker Series: Dan Butin, Ph.D.

Dr. Butin, Ph.D., the Dean of the School of Education & Social Policy and Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Democracy, will discuss Flip This! Rethinking the Future of Social Justice, Service-Learning, and Online Education in Colleges and Universities.  Click here to register!

In 2012, Dr. Butin was named as one of the top 100 “Public Presence” Education Scholars by Education Week. He has authored and edited more than seventy academic publications, including the books The Engaged Campus (2012), Service-Learning in Theory and Practice (2010), and most recently, Civic Engagement 2.0? Dialogues and Provocations on the Civic in the Disrupted University.


Building Community, Reaching for Justice Speaker Series provides opportunities for experts in community engagement and related fields to discuss critical issues with students and the greater community, one Wednesday a month.  These events are free, and open to the public.
