New England Ringers Holiday Concert

4:00pm EDT November 30 EST

Rogers Center for the Arts

Join New England’s premier community handbell ensemble as it launches the 2014 holiday season with an ecumenical and multicultural celebration of the holiday spirit. In its 14th year and directed by Edward G. Henderson, Jr., New England Ringers performs some of the most interesting and challenging handbell music in the repertoire on six and one-half octaves of Schulmerich handbells, three octaves of White Chapel bells, and seven octaves of Malmark handchimes, often accompanied by additional instruments.

The performance will showcase the ringers’ ability to perform a varied repertoire with energy, experience, discipline and skill to achieve their signature artistry with the handbell instrument, and will feature innovative arrangements of familiar carols, classical transcriptions, and original holiday selections.  With its commitment to musical excellence, focus on eclectic programming to appeal to a variety of musical tastes, and a healthy dash of showmanship, NER has been entertaining audiences of all ages since 2000 throughout all six New England states, New York, and Pennsylvania.
